How best to frame a question

A tarot reading can help you gain clarity of thought when facing a challenge or problem in your life. It can be the tool that helps you to look where you had not thought to look before and open the door to forming a better, more constructive decision about the problem or situation.

How you ask your question will affect the type of answer you receive. Tarot is a tool to empower you to take responsibility for your own life. The cards do not make the decisions for you, they suggest the possibilities.

Your question should aim to be open ended rather than a yes/no type. Tarot (in my opinion) does not answer yes/no very effectively. By open ended I mean:

How can I.....?
What do I need to understand / know about......?
How can I improve my chances of........?
How might I........?

As an example instead of asking: Is my boss ignoring me? ask: What can I do in order to improve my career?

Questions should be focused on yourself rather than another person. It is not considered ethical to ask questions about other people. As an example instead of asking: Does my mother-in-law hate me? Ask: What can I do to improve my relationship with my mother-in-law?

Specific question will get you the best answers but if you do not have a question then a general reading can be done, or we can focus on a particular area in you life such as your work, relationship etc.

Please think carefully about what you ask because as stated in my ethics page, I reserve the right of refusal to answer questions I consider unsuitable. In those circumstances I will refund your payment (but less 10%). Some examples of unsuitable questions would be:

  • Anything about death or the timing of death
  • Asking about anothers relationship
  • Asking sexually orientated question
  • Asking fortune-telling type questions
  • Will I marry?
  • Will I get pregnant?
  • Will I win the lotto?

If you need further information please do not hesitate to email me.

And finally, remember that the insights found in the cards are only suggestions. To act or not act on them is at your own discretion. Any decisions you make based on a reading are your own responsibility.
